Taxis are easy to hail along the streets in Bahrain and provide a comfortable way to get around. Official taxis are easily identified by their orange and white or orange and gold colours.

You can find taxis at ranks outside shopping malls and major hotels, as well as at the airport where they are available on the ground floor. There is an additional charge of BD1.00 for airport taxis. In Bahrain, the use of metres in taxis is mandatory. All taxis must have a working metre and specific rates. If a driver refuses to use the metre, or if the metre is covered, broken, or not turned on, simply exit the cab and find another one.
